Spring / Summer 2015 introduces a-morir collection, the re-imagined luxury bespoke eyewear line by a-morir.
For years, pop stars and fashionistas alike have made a-morir their go-to supplier for daring, couture-worthy glasses and statement pieces. Now entering her seventh season, designer Kerin Rose Gold has refined her skill and technique for a-morir’s first luxury line, matching bespoke production and premium materials with an aesthetic maturity and new design sophistication.
a-morir collection brings a new, elevated dimension to the brand's signature hand-crafted pieces. Having spent years searching for the right team for the task, Gold wound up on the southern coast of Turkey this past spring, bonding with a small and dedicated team of artisans to make ophthalmic quality eyewear from premium materials. Gold spent days learning their old-world production techniques while selecting beautiful, premium Italian Mazzucchelli acetate from which her new frames would be made. Working closely with her small team in New York City, Gold then developed unique and custom-plated jewelry embellishments, all hand-set with extravagant Swarovski gems and crystals onto each frame in the a-morir studio.
Keeping a-morir’s discerning clientele close to heart while staying true to her rock and roll roots and pop culture inspirations, Gold spent weeks designing this season's pieces while watching “120 Minutes," the iconic alternative music video series that ran throughout the nineties. Inspired by the high-fashion of the minimalist, alternative, and authentic styles of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane's Addiction and Ministry, the resulting “120 Minutes” collection is a refined yet striking line that is both wearable and editorial.
